if you look at who is actually bidding on it. only 2 main bidders on the bike.
the seller and one bidder both have zero rating, probably same person. s***1( 0 ) the bidder is the one bringing up the price in small increments. the other bidder might be involved too so that other genuine buyers will join.if l***s( 27) bidder actually wants the bike then he should not bid and just wait for the auction end.
what's a sign of shilling? I can see there's been a huge amount of bids on this auction.

dont worry about shill bidders. set your own maximum of what you think something is worth and then bid. resist the temptation to go above the maximum that you have set.
Whilst this is true, it's always nice to have to not pay that maximum nuless you have to whereas a shill bidder will force you to and leave a bad taste in the mouth if you suspect it.
I agree with setting a maximum, but I wouldn't do it in ebay until the last possible possible minute.

completely agree with this.
Ebay are very good about finding out shill bidders. I admit I got done for it myself a while ago. I placed a couple of bids on a friends item and somehow they knew and banned my account for good. -

if you look at who ...............blah,blah.......ion end.
further investigation reveals that bidder s***1( 0 ) has a real interest in this sellers items and little or no interest in other sellers. he/she also bidded on a nokia phone part they were selling recently. coincidence? maybe.

... set your maximum bid - set a snipe for 4seconds...
i won an item over this recently - someone upped my bid by $.03 within 3 seconds time of auction's end. good thing i kept my eyes glued to the screen and another, higher, bid was already entered in the field - i just hit enter and won. if not for that, the bloody sniper would've gotten my item. i only realized all of this after it was over and i looked at the bidding history - there's no way anyone could outbid you by $.03 a couple of seconds before an end without third party assistance. fuck that, i'll win anyway =))
worth to mention that recently i've finally started to win stuff on ebay. many of the tecniques were picked up on here, most notably, from subtle comments of CoppiThat. so cheers man! =))

the auction system would result in small incremental increases. what's fishy about it is that there is such an interest for a bike with one bad photo and such a bad description.
