  • I considered buying that frame and building it with period parts (geared) tis very nice.

Your build is pretty sweet, well done. Chain is a bit short though looks like it could do with a link or two so that the axle fits more central in the drop.

  • I will change the rear sproket from 19t to 16 tomorrow morn so it will fit better and move more quickly too... just impatient to see it built

  • As Tel said. Great bike. Maybe the chain is a bit short indeed.

    I bet it rides smoothly

  • You should post that in current project, but glad to hear you like it.

  • Hope that rear's done up good n tight.!!

  • with the 16t it sits in the middle of the drops so now pretty perfect... - the joys of having to get up with a 4 year old at 5.30!

  • Nice work - I like it!

BTW - what type of nitto stem is that? It's the shortest one I've seen.

Tell me about it, mines 5.5yrs...

  • technomic 50 mm stem

  • Nice work - love the colours...Enjoy

  • Very nice. I was considering buying this one too.

Oh, and that brake cable could do with a trim and the QR on the front is wrong way around. :-)

  • Sweet. What was your budget?

  • didn't set one... logic was that my first would be based on a regular fram but I would buy quality portable componenets... total must have cost me 600....

  • mmm, must learn to type!

  • Nice build

  • Yeah, I only spent £140 on my last build. That explains the difference in asthetics.
    What grip tape is that?

  • lasmo999, though about putting some chrome mudguard on it? it would fill in the gap and suit the bike nicely (it's build for mudguard).

  • Mudguards are for bedwetters, Ed.

  • you once turned up at my flat with a full set of mudguards on your peugeot 'fixie', unwrapped bars and a look in your eye like the world was all new.

    what happened to you, man?

  • Mudguards are for bedwetters, Ed.

Do you have peer reviewed data to back up this claim?

(waits a minute for mrsmyth to back it up)

How much money did you spend on washing that lycra of your every time it rain?

  • How much money did you spend on washing that lycra of your every time it rain?

No more than usual as I always wash my kit after each ride anyway. I have a lot of kit.

  • Shockingly naive I know but I was under the impression that one washed one's lycra after every ride?

  • Do you have peer reviewed data to back up this claim?

No, it was a flippant, facetious remark. I'm sorry the forum interface is deficient in relaying these kind of subtleties.
