I just got contents insurance from Endsleigh for my many many belongings and got bike insured with it and they seem pretty good and you dont need to prove you have expensive locks they just want it locked to something immovable. I'll post on here if they actually pay out - but I have hope
Just spoke to Endsleigh and they won't cover the bike if it's a custom build as mine is, they referred me to a specialised bike insurer. So if you have added components to your bike I wouldn't rely on Endsleigh, or at least get it in writing that they cover you. And they do require specific, approved locks, you can see the list when you get a bicycle quote on their website.
My Endsleigh home contents does cover £150 for push bikes away from the home, which I did successfully claim for when my previous bike (worth around £400) got stolen. The excess comes out from the extra value generously enough so I got a cheque for £150.
