• I'm having an ACL reconstruction on the 1st November and have been told it may take a year before I can return to work. I'm a self employed plasterer so this will be devastating to my finances, I have a mortgage, 3 year old and six week old daughters. Any advice on speeding up recovery after the op? If poss could you pm with rates and any ideas of a programme that might be usefull, thanks.

Post-operative rehab for ACL reconstruction is fairly standardised and limited only by the graft compliance. You should be able to return to work well within a year. Normal guidance for athletes is running at around 3 months, return to sport at around 9 months (ranging from 6-12) but you would be physically able to work much earlier but perhaps not squatting / bending.

You will have to commit to your rehab if you want a successful outcome. I'll PM more specifics.
