  • Ive had to dry my gloves out tonight my hands were sweating!

Silk liners and dakine ski gloves, which were about £35; waterproof, windproof and toasty as toast, no padding in the palm but that's what bar tape is for.

  • i use these, and they are by far the best i have used, and the cheapest i have used...

if you need to use your hands pop the top off and away you go.. couldn't be simpler.

    Filthy fucker...
    ;-/

  • lol

  • I've got a pair of the Sealskinz gloves, they are very good but not quite warm enough for current temperatures. I dug out the Pearl Izumi lobster gloves last night and my hands were toasty warm this morning.

Aye, seconded. I've recommended them in the past but they've been shite for weeks now.

This morning when I got back from a ride my feet and hands took about an hour to get enough feeling back in them to get in the bath. Feet especially, and that was with cashmere socks under sealskinz waterproof socks under sidis. Gah.

  • After faffing around for weeks with various combinations, I'm finding Endura Strikes with Sealskinz merino liners are working well.

  • Bugger-Bollocks!! Like a muppet i've lost my gloves, I need to find a replacement pair of Endura Lobster's size Large. Anyone know/seen any around anywhere??? Seems like one of their best gloves has been deleted, wtf!?! why!!

  • Get some cheap ski glove for now.

  • I've been finding my cyclones a bit too tight/unbending to use with liners underneath, so in the spirit of 'making do' have resorted to using this combo (decathlon liner + primark leather gloves with fleecy cotton lining). Toasty warm, and total cost £10.

  • Get some cheap ski glove for now.

Thanks Ed, but life is about so much more than just "making do". once you've had a taste of the the good stuff.......whooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!

that said, i can't find a pair of the pincher pads anywhere. wtf. should'a bought 2 pairs when they were £13. meh!

  • Am in Warminster right now so have popped into the dents factory

they have fur lined leather gloves for £40, wool/cotton/synthetic lined leather gloves for 20 and neoprene/rubber snipers gloves (with foldback fingers and thumbs) for £18.

If anyone wants me to pick up some gloves pm me. We can arrange size colour and Paypal payment and I can bring them to London.

  • Bump

if you want leather gloves pm me by 4.30

  • hmmmm tempted by the rubber snipers gloves..................

  • Who do you want to kill?

  • Who do you want to kill?

    I have a list.

    don't worry you're not on it ;p

  • I love my sealskins shooting gloves.. Waterproof, good grip, and a fold-up finger for my phone :-)

Have you tried these in near zero conditions? If so, did they protect your fingers from the freezing wind?

    Cheers.

So you'd def recommend the Pearls over the Sealskinz? Tried the Sealskins on today and was impressed by the fit, the lack of bulkiness and the waterproof and windproof claims. I really want a glove that's genuinely waterproof/windproof and keeps the freezing wind off my digits at zero degrees and below.

EDIT: Just checked out the Izumis. They look great for everything except the wet, which is a shame. Gonna plump for the Seal Skinz, fuck it.

  • worth pointing out that the sealskinz ultra grip gloves leaves your fingers really nimble. without taking them off I manage to lock up my bike with both locks and generally open/close all zips etc on my bag and clothing. this solved my general problem of entering shops and pubs with grimy hands after locking up my bike.
they are wind and shower proof (haven't had the chance to test them in heavy rain yet) and they don't make my hands sweaty in the fairly mild weather we have right now (12 - 14 'C).
the quite tight rubbery fit might not be everyone's cup of tea though, but it seems like they become more comfy over time? oh, and I really like the minimal black design.

  • Got sealskinz but after 2 weeks of nice 10-15 celsius autumn Finland went straight to +-0 with freezing rain. They were awesome but now they are not warm enough.

  • assos 851 gloves

Bought yesterday. Cycle surgery had sold all but 2 pairs in my size in London, so grabbed the penultimate pair, and price matched them. They look like something out of sci fi movie, reasonably comfortable, but not as nice as my rapha town gloves for comfort (they are not lined). Not as grippy as the town gloves either, but a lot warmer.

Need to return my other gloves to dents, all the stitching went in the fingers of the right hand glove after a week of use.

    they look like

    Giordana Activa. Waterproof and toastie.

I bought some of these on your recommendation last week as I seemed to have lost my regular northwave winter gloves in the house move. They are indeed toastie - but what's with the massive thumbs on them? All the other fingers fit fine..do I just have small thumbs?

    Anyway, have some rep

  • Excellent, and yes the thumbs are huge. I too thought I had small thumbs.

  • I found a Commencal glove on King's Cross Road/Farringdon Road this morning.
If it's yours let me know.

  • I wear a pair of these underneath these .. does the job
    Layering allows you more options.
