anil, I recommend swapping the knobbly tyres for a similar sized slick instead of a super slick one like a 23c, bigger tyres soak up the London's famous London's road very well, and make it easier to ride.
I have a bike with 47c tyres, I can't believe how smooth the road felt over a 28c one on the fixed wheel road bike.
