  • Thought about it before. I don't want to give them a position as it were as I like their impartial position and ability to tell me to get fucked where appropriate too. Sure hippy could do that too, but I think the perception might be that we protect each other's position or something, so I prefer not giving position and letting people call me out without any bias.

Alright then, just let them smite folk who step out of line, I'd quite like members to fear the rath of BDW + VV like Astrix and the Gauls feared the Gods.

  • Cheers andy :)

  • Andy, you're such a quality vortex.

(That insult really should have come from edscoble. :) )

  • Ed would have included some variety of vegetable

  • Ed would have inserted some variety of vegetable

    Stalker.

  • fruitbat, winston

  • Anyone on two wheels is a friend?

    Are you fucking mad?

What about those underpowered scooters that scream everywhere at maximum revs like barely-controlled strimmers?

What about those newly retired bankers on their BMWS on the Channel ferry who then go the wrong way round the first roundabout? (Might only be my pet hate)...

How about the CTC codgers stubbornly riding three abreast and then refusing to recognise either the kitty or round concept?
Ever waited for 25 codgers to pay for their halves of Old Fartingbras and pots of tea for one?

I can think of other people on two wheels who I wouldn't want to be associated with...

Yeah I'm the reason this place is going downhill. Oh, unless he meant I'm a good quality vortex. I've never been called a spinning fluid flow before. I think I'm smitten. bigtwit, wanna hook up? I'm sure we can make beautiful things happen.

  • I agree that some Newbs get too much of a pasting, and i know people who have been put off joining by this, but the forum to me really is like a bunch of mates, with differing opinions, but drawn together by the love of bikes, sitting in a pub and putting the world to rights.

It's been said several times in this thread now that anybody who is put off by the forum should go to the pub and see the real people behind it. It's worth considering that if the forum puts them off, they're even less likely to go to the pub and risk exposing themselves in person (and maybe their bikes) to the ridicule and hostility they fear attracting online.

  • If some deems to be demanding attention don't respond its easy.

edit the tags say it all.

  • Yeah I'm the reason this place is going downhill.

  • fee fi fo fum

youre on ignore dont you remember?!

  • I do not know how Furious Tiles can possibly countenance the idea of VV and BDW as moderators.

Clearly as VV rides single speed rather than fixed, she lacks any moral authority and as she restrains her husband from using his tongue when kissing me she is an inhibitor of fun and friendship.

As for BDW, an Everton supporter not from Swindon, what can one say?

  • If Hitler was on Two wheels would he be Cornelius' friend?
Would that friendship stop the moment he dismounted his bike?
This is a very shallow form of friendship.

  • Tommy, the clue to Corny's concept of friendship is his use of the present tense. Hitler, Mao, Stalin and Pol Pot are all dead and therefore unlikely to be riding around London now or any time soon. David Cameron and Boris Johnson are Corny's friends which is a little worrying even if they are not quite in the league of Pol Pot and his chums. Margaret Thatcher, I am pleased to say, is not known for riding a bike but Edwina Curry does.

  • ...godwinned - thread over.

  • And she rode John Major.

  • Thank you for clearing that up one of the points Cliveo, but does this friendship end when they dismount? Does the friendship exist if nearly astride a bike or only when fully mounted.

  • Pfft. I only joined to be close to the ghost of Bowlie.

  • Tommy, do we like Joeslain (where is he these days by the way?) when he is walking his bike? Of course we do. Others may only generate affection while pedalling. Freewheeling is a grey area.

  • I joined because I spotted an opportunity to make some new friends, based on a shared interest and, to begin with, geographical proximity.

The forum delivered in spades*, and continues to do so.

It was only recently that riding fixed in London was quite a solitary experience. You knew there were a few like-minded souls, but finding their whereabouts seemed an impossible task. [/old timer]

    *not racist

  • Fixed died in '08. It's all about rattling, under-lubed, grit-caked Kinesisesesesses.

  • …or Tixed.

  • how about a plain, old fashioned, democratic vote ( lynching )?

    DJ
    Chavinator
    Scoble

    put it to the people.

    What's your fuckin game?

Never *did *get round to givin you a slap did I?
