  • Places are going fast, just 18 places left in the seniors.

  • i don't drink cider. Unlike Andy, I'm not a hipster....

Are you mocking my disa-fucking-bility you bastard?I have to drink cider because beer is off limits due to medical reasons.

That is the stock, marginally ironic hipster response

  •
    sorry.

  • Ha! I was kidding (although the reason I can't drink beer is true).

Anyway, back on topic. I am now entered for Muddy Hell II and plan to improve on my 10th placed position in the old bastards race (although the oldest, biggest bastard has chickened out I believe - care to comment Clive?) from last year.

  • shakes fist

Cliveo will claim work as a limiting factor.

  • ... and just to clarify if this is your first, or one of your first goes at 'cross/offroad racing, then you should probably enter in the Go-Race catagory - which will be a more entry level field of riders.

It's just a shame no-one told Clive last year. :)

  • clive in teaching the bad, dirty bike a lesson it deserves.

  • I think the bike totally pwned Clive to be honest.

  • The course certainly did. I imagine Clive still has nightmares about the drop off.

  • I saw all the other riders dashing down it; reached the top; looked down; felt nauseous; dismounted and gently carried my bike to safety.

No nightmares involved and luckily it was a long way from any onlookers.

Unfair. This Sunday I have been forced to abandon my plans to ride the Tour of the Marshes as I have been called into a meeting with an American, a Brazillian and a Welshman. Sounds like a joke and, in a manner of speaking, it is.

If anyone knows the punchline, I would be delighted to hear it.

  • Never ridden 'cross before, entered in the Go-race cat, going to be racing on my mates SS 29".

    What have i done?

  • you just entered the go-race cat on your mates SS 29"

good job you wrote it down otherwise you could have forgotten what you just did

cross is like a drug, you will crave more

  • hmmn this sounds cool but i ride a fixed gear bike, how am i going to cope in this event. specially down the muddy hill and up the hill..

  • If you're any good fixed won't matter.

that depends on how much experience you have of riding fixed off road.
if you do this regularly and have been cycling since before you could walk, ride bmx/mtb/road/track/fixed/geared and are a good bike handler it will be challenging and fun.

only been riding your fixie-skidder for 3 months between EC1 and E3 then it's going to be scary fun up until you lose a leg or maybe even kill yourself.

don't forget it's dark so you need more that a hipster cyst Knogg light to illuminate the tree you are about to kiss.

  • I am definately good on my fix, so may be ur right ... i shouldn't worry..lol

Bit of a delay, only just seen this thread.
If the American hailed from Hollywood?
Yes, I'm sure there's a punchline to be had
