I was going to make some dropouts of ali sheet the same thickness- fairly easy for track style dropoutsand just a bit laborious with a hacksaw and file but a lot less than £50.
Brake bosses are rivited on will so will come off very easily.or move the bosses up a little to take 700c wheels
