  • I made no comment about njs stuff being weak or defective. Its just there is generally a hipster tax, so you have a fucking expensive bike with a couple of cheap LED lights. This strikes me as fucking stupid.

i expect if you live in hackney and have a low paid job in some media service industry (not directly creative but you like to think you are) then the effectiveness of a cycling light is insignificant when there are more important things to worry about like your meaningless blog, how cool your whip is, finally getting in vice magazine and hoping it doesn't rain so you can drink cheap imported lager in the street and not get your pathetically thin ironic plimsoles wet.

  • My first thought was why would you recommend the Illuminati...

  • on a rainy night you are invisible to motorists driving with their eyes closed
fixed any light is better than no light...even if it sucks

  • Your one brain cell is better than none, though its only relative.

  • Fenix twofish lock block plus a torch that suits your illuminary requirements and a smart super flash for the rear.

  • I've just ordered a set of these from a recommendation on singletrackworld.com
i'll post up what they are like once i've got them up and running, but as they are the price of a couple of pints then i figured they would be worth a punt.

  • SON dynohub and a bright front light, eg Solidlights. Sure, about £300+... Anyone tried AyeUps?

Anyone who wants to be seen at night. Not sure how long it will last though

  • I got this one:
    http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.25149

    its awesome.

I have one too. But be aware, if you battery pack gives out (mine did after 4 months), they know you are from the UK and just hang you out to dry. Flatly refused to honour the warranty, then wouldn't answer email etc etc, and even had the cheek to suggest that I just buy another one.

They are good, and cheap for what they are, but it's very much buyer beware.

godfuckingdammit* I want one of those, been wanting a glow in dark or 3M reflective frame for ages...

*I can say 'godfuckingdammit' all I want, apparently, according to some Pope, I'm a nazi atheist from a third world country... so obviously I don't know any better than to use my potty mouth.

  • excellent. we need an anti pope ride. aren't the roads closed?

  • Hagley Rd near me is shut on Sunday going out from 5 Ways all day, ok going in except a few hours when he visits some church by Guitar Guitar after he does that thing in the field he does.

I'd throw stuff at him but I've already paid massive amounts of tax so that our police can protect him and frankly getting shot for egging a German religious nut isn't on my to-do list.

  • My friends mom lives near cofton park, the secret service have been round to check if its a possible sniper threat. Unfortunatly not : (

  • oh, got the new USE Flare the other day.
Retail at £40, hurt my eyes.

  • I have an Exposure Joy stick which I won for winning a night race (woo go me!) it's freakkin awesome, I did use a dealextreme special which was also freakkin awesome but the battery only lasted an hour on full lumen and the torches are too heavy for mounting on your lid.

heres a link to DX http://www.dealextreme.com/
look for any of the p7 LED torches, pick up some batteries,, dont buy the cheapest charger on their as it's rubbish go one up or two on the price scale. add some scope/rifle mounts and voilla you have a 900lumen sun on your handlebars for 20quid.

I can bring my torches to Polo practice on Wednesday if you'd like to give them a whirl

  • +1 for anything from USE.
I have joystick and flare now. Amazing lights, but sadly do nothing for idiotic drivers that have no concept of oncoming traffic..... took a lovely slide up and over a windscreen on friday afternoon. Lit up like a bastard Christmas Tree i was.

Got these for night riding on Cannock Chase or Night enduros (Dusk til Dawn). Got them before they shut the office in Gloucester and moved everything to be done from OZ. £250 yeah can be expensive but for a helmet light and a bar light combo they are great bang for the buck. Or if you are wiz like this guy have a go at making your own. http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/trouts-back-with-another-light
