Fixed, no foot retention, but still had both brakes on. Something new :)

Sometimes I end up doing the same thing but generally only when I really NEED the coffee and all doubts about safety are dashed in favour of doing the java jive.

Nothing wrong with that if they have a front brake. I've ridden fixed with no foot retention many times. As long as you don't go downhill too fast I can't see the problem.
