Oh rly? If you're going to sacrifice as much braking and shifting performance as Gunter has for that bike, why not just build a weight weenie fixie skidder and lose another 200g? Light bikes are only worthwhile if they are faster than heavier bikes. The only place Gunter's bike is faster than a well considered 5kg build is when you get off it and run up some stairs carrying your bike.
i said 'apparently' in relation to function. Obviously not a race bike, and no one can comment on it's actual performance, but one can speculate it won't be too good, due to lack of rigidity compared to a 5kg bike, as you said. But again who knows exactly how stiff it actually is ?
