• A pretty 'Velo Emile' from renowned BRH bicycle shop in Valkenburg, Limburg, the land of the Amstel Gold Race. I used this as my city bike for the past 6 months and it hasn't let me down once. It's a tad too large for someone my size (1.85m with 87cm inseam)

Not sure who built the frame but as you can see it is top quality, Columbus SL with Campagnolo dropouts.

Paintjob is 95% OK some scratches & flakes off chainstay and fork, see pics.

    Seat tube 59.5cm c-t
    Top tube 56.5cm c-c

    Full Shimano 600 groupset
    Cinelli bars (43cm)
    Mavic stem (100mm)
    SR seatpost
    Turbo saddle
    Wolber rims

    Hi-res pics here

Yours for €285 including delivery in UK/EU

  • OK. I know that no-one's ever heard of this brand, but to have only Colnagos and Gazelles on the London roads would make it so boring... This one's just as good, hand made quality steel, and pretty rare outside the south of Limburg, NL :)

Anyway, to try and raise some interest in this lovely bike (and to be able to get into the house through the narrow bike-filled hallway again):

  • Great bike, suprised someone hasn't gone for it.

  • lovely bike-would have your hand off it if the seat tube was a touch smaller ;(

  • Another lovely bike from Peter. As a customer, I can highly recommend his bikes. Mine arrived in a couple of days and worked perfectly.

  • I should ride this!

  • ^ of course you should! gathering dust & comments from the wife is a much worse fate for a bike

  • Too big, but its got my name!
    ;-)

  • hmm, its my size and also (just about) in springbok colours.

    hovers over DIBS button

  • I need it in a 52 please...

  • lovely.

  • Nice piece of kit. Do you know what year this bike is and is the 600 groupo factory fit?

  • I don't know the exact year. My best guess is 1982 to mid-eighties.

I think all BRH bikes were kitted to customers' specifications, it's not like there was a huge factory spitting out loads of bikes in 'spec a or b'. Small scale enthusiast but specialist business is more like what was going on there in those days...

  • Great colours! too big...

  • if anyone wishes to dibs it will be 3rd

  • Haha, nice one Peter!

A bike from my hometown! I know Emile really well.. He's an oldschool bike mechanic and has tons of knowhow. I once asked him about these bikes and he told me they were all Italian build (He would go to various workshops in Italy and order these frames, mostly in custom sizes.) I think most of them came from Torpado (Ciocc, Concorde etc.)

Then, when they got delivered in Valkenburg he'd build with whatever groupset you want..

  • Hi Chaim :) thnx for the extra info man! Please give Emile my compliments next time you're in Valkenburg

  • Hello,
Is it still available? (Velo Emile)
    thanks
