Common Darwin, you know you want it :) Lacing a 36 hub to a 32 isn't much a problem, did it quite a few times and the wheel rides fine.
Practically speaking I'm sure you right C.E. -
But I know myself well enough to know that every time I saw one of the empty holes in the hub - I would wish that I bought 32 ...
