Not quite 'the news', but there's a little Downs polo video here that was shot by spectators from Cycling Club Hackney:

Hey guys and gals, a journalist wants to come and cover London Polo this weekend. Just got off the phone with him, he sounds like a nice genuine guy.
Would someone who's around this weekend be able to be a port of call in case they got lost, etc? Sounds like they want to get some footage and interview people. It'll go on some London blogs and be sent to Portugal to perhaps start a scene there... I need a phone number and email address and you need to be around for polo this weekend?
Good afternoon!
My name is Marco Leitao Silva and I am a Portuguese journalist currently based in London. Aside from that, I am also one of the co/founders of the recently created web-site "Cycling in London": an online journalistic project aiming to address the community of cyclists living in this city.
I became aware of your association just a few moments ago - and honestly, I had never heard about this sport. Nevertheless, I found it quite interesting and, from my point of view, it could become a great story to our web-site.
I would like to know if you someone from your association would be available for an interview with us. We would record this interview on video and we would also like to watch one of your games. Do you think that would be possible?
Aside from being published in our web-site, it could also be published in Portugal, since I have been working as a freelance to Media outlets from my country.
Thanks!

Not news but interesting to see how polo is spreading. Just received this in my inbox from an Australian design shop that has nothing to do with bikes generally.
Bike Polo Leather Ties X Walnut Studiolo
Bike polo tested and approved! Designed by a Hardcourt Bike Polo aficionado, these bike polo mallet holders bundle together mallet cues and secure the mallets to your bike's top tube.
Besides being devilishly stylish, the mallet cue holder will keep players honest on which cues they should use and organizes mallets so players can easily see which game is next.
This comes as a set of two mallet holders; it takes two mallet holders to secure the mallets to your bike. Each set comes with two different colors to differentiate between the cues. If you purchase two sets, there will be four different colors.
Great to hold a six pack too!Made with love in Portland, Oregon.
Strap me: $50.00
