Wanted: +400£ complete daily bike

Hey there !

I'm looking for a daily fixed gear.

Aluminum track frame. 54/56cm. Don't care about the cosmetic state, as soon as everything works.

Don't care about the hub, formula's are great. Not B43 or H+Son, velocity of weinamm are great, or thinner like mavic open pro or something like this.

Just want a good crankset, something like omnium's or 75's or equivalent (miche primato...)

Don't care if the saddle is leather or if the seat post is NJS.

Bullhorn for the handlebar if possible. Don't want riser.

Not many colors !

Just want a nice daily bike to go to school (approx. 30km each days). This bike is going to enjoy rain and wind every day.

Budget : 400/500£ incl. shipping to France.

PS : A 2007 or 2008 Felt TK2 will be perfect.

Specialized Langster sound like your idea choice, or even a Charge Plug which is having a good deal at the moment (£299) and have bullhorn.

Don't like those "ready to ride" bikes. Sorry, i prefer got a bike with scratches and dirt with good components than a shiny factory bike.

They're too much eye catching, and that's what i want to avoid...

You have enough money to simply make one, just ask around (neighbour, friends, families, etc.) if they have any old bike in the shed and all you need to do is simply spend extra money on a rear wheels and a few bit and bob that need replacing.

In fact, someone did just that not long ago (but shorten the chain instead);

Doesn't look eye-candy like those 'ready to ride' bike, although the charge plug isn't that much of an eye candy.

I've already got multiple fixed gear, maybe 6/7 bikes during 3 years :)

If i ask for a bike like that, it's because i don't have many time to build it by myself, and in UK, prices are more "fair" than in France ;)

I saw this really nice complete track lowpro for sale on this forum, pink and black it was, made by someone called something like Samuel Trout, it's in france too so that would help you, for around that money ... oh wait ...

well it's alu, it look comfortable for your 30k commute, and it's cheap, what more you want to ask?

crankset is not good quality, already got one of those fsa vero cranks, really bad things, don't have a straight fork, to much sloping geometry.

You're really picky for a 'beater'.

Maybe the 300£ felt's + 200£ upgrade could be a good deal...
