Hello Manchester, gosh I've missed you.
Slingshotting round the bottom of Ancoats to go under the Mancunian Way, a coach who doesn't know where he's going indicates in at the last seconds and pushes me into the right hand lane. Cue a Merc revving it's engines and beeping behind me. I put my hand up and indicate to the left, and pull in behind the bus. Clearly this is not good enough, as matey winds down the window and starts having a moment, complete with the requisite 'effin and jeffin'. I tell him to fuck off, and throw him the fingers.
This is obviously a bit too much for him on 9:30, Monday morning, so he brakes hard and swings left at about 30, leaving me leaning against his rear off-side door trying to stay upright. He races off and parks in the layby about 100 meters down the road. He then throws the door open, and starts sprinting down the road at me, can of beer in hand. He doesn't look to friendly, all skinhead and tracksuit, so I go into the right lane (nothing's about now) and floor it. Cue full beer can hitting me in the side as I'm out of the saddle.
I get a bit down the road and realise he's going to get into his car again, so I find a off road and flick about some back lanes for a while, hoping he'll fuck off. I continue to Uni and spend my first hour of lectures shaking, hyperventilating and honestly believing that my heart is going to give up and stop.
So that was fun. Hopefully I can just chalk it up to experience, I held it together long enough, just.
How is everyone else this morning???

^ must be cctv round there? Report to cops as an assault and let them track him down. Sounds like a complete nutter tho, glad you got away.

Glad you're ok, sounds like quite a scare. I don’t think this would be useful in your situation Morgan but your story prompted me to share this:
Yesterday my housemate made a great suggestion for dealing with nuisance drivers. It’s for times when verbal abuse isn’t quite enough and d-lock abuse is a bit too much. All you do is open one of the rear passenger doors causing the driver to have to stop and get out the car to close it. Cheeky! Obviously make sure nobody is slipstreaming behind you. Probs best to do it on stationary cars.

The two classics are...
a) engine stops. Pull the keys out of a car/hit the killswitch of a motorbike or scooter/hit the emergency stop button on older double decks.
b) only really useful for buses, but call the police from a phone box and tell them someone's waving a gun around on the top deck. Hours of fun for the driver...

I do the pulling the keys out of a car ignition one all the time. Mostly I like to combo it with a skid and a nipple twister.

Well, it must have been seven o'clock somewhere...
But seriously, I despise Ancoats/Great Ancoat St. I ride parts of it to work, and I get some wonderful 8am drivers on the corner onto Oldham Rd.

Hi everyone. Darius 21; just moved back here after living in Bristol for a year and loving the fixed scene down there. Got a fast whip (a raw'd Fuji Track) for going to uni on and just built an Identiti Persona running 26s for "fixed gear free style" or "trick" or whatever you want to call it. Really want to meet some riders and get involved in the scene up here. Do you guys have weekly meets or anything? Will get some picks of my bikes up soon but if you see me say hello!!! D

I probably wouldn't play until i had a bike that i don't mind getting sermacked with a mallet, but i might pop down one week to have a watch and that, i know a couple of people that play it in Bristol but never really got into it myself, looks like fun though and would be up for a go.
On another note if everyone does want to ride "trick" gimme a shout? :-)
