Tube strike yesterday so my friend Jane decided to Boris bike to work. She has never ridden in London before.
Her nearest point to home is Whitechapel, the most easterly station. Her nearest point to work is Olympia, the most westerly station.
Fair play to her - 20 miles total of riding through tube strike traffic and she absolutely loved it. I cycled home with her, nice and slowly and we did a great mix of traffic conditions, including along the embankment from Parliament square to Tower Hill. With some help from me she really got the idea of holding primary position and being a part of traffic. She saw some great sights that she has never seen before and kept stopping to take photos and appreciate the sunset.
She was tired at the end, but not too bad or too saddle sore. Definitely a thumbs up experience for her.

I'd just like to give her a great big chapeau.
