I never did it but after drilling you add a new thread that you screw in the hole. To have the right diameter you just have to choose the right thread insert.
For the right pedal it should work as it goes clockwise. (dunno if they do anti-clockwise threads).
And they say it becomes stronger than the original aluminum thread...
