Ferry http://www.steam-packet.com/SteamPacket/Book-Now/ It's easy although you have to go into liverpool or heysham. Cost is the major downside.
Light enough now as its daytime (we get that here aswell as London), April is when you can start to get away with longer evening rides without lights.
Avoid TT (May 30-Jun10) and Grandprix (august). Also in 2011 we are hosting the Youth Commonwealth Games (sep 7-13).
Yes the weather in Majorca would be better and it would cheaper, however I am not in majorca.
That particular climb/decent combo peaks at around 14/15% up and down but would average at about 8 ish.
