Which hoses are you going for? And what brakes?
I'd recommend these http://helperformance.com/mtb/ Different fittings to the the normal push fittings but I've had no problems with mine in over a year.
I've only noticed minor improvements in braking performance (I'm sure the pro's have there own views on this) but in terms of durability they are much better than the plastic hoses.
