Evans was awesome in the race. He covered everything. The main problem was that that group of 30odd went down the road way too early and spent 5 or 6 laps attacing each other. Had they waited to brake on the last few laps then they would have had the legs to ride down the road. Having said that the pellaton would have been a bit jumpier at that point and probably wouldnt have let them go.
