Hstiles, I disagree witht the "clandestine approach" you advocate. The end result of false informaton is that Mr Angry has a polite chat with an enqiry officer and his name/index number is linked to false and malicious allegations. So next time someone complains the Police are already dubious.
People should not be afraid to stand up for themselves, OK DJ may be in for a protracted round of statements and court appearances but if the system works (admittedly a big "if") Mr Angry might think twice in future.
