  • Hi there,
I ve just signed up, I am French so I am a bit lost here.
Hope to be riding with you soon.

  • Hi Chape, Welcome to LFGSS!!!

  • Hey. New to here. Not in london, but pathetically obsessed with 80's steel racers.

  • Welcome Sam! It dont matter if youre not in London. Where you based? We have some awesome sub forums here for a couple of areas. If not, you got us!

  • Obsession is good. You are in the right place.

  • I'm in Southampton. Anyone here from roundabouts? Got knee surgery in 2 months, but hopefully back to cycling by spring. In the meantime, lots of time sat with my leg on a stool, lusting after Colnago artisan frames, and building the perfect bike for summer....

  • Welcome Samual,

There's a few of us from the sunshine coast on here (Bournemouth - Potsmouth stretch). Feel free to waffle obsessivley about the beauty and merits of old steel bikes anytime my friend, you'll be in good company around here.

  • So can somebody enlighten me as to why I still cannot start posts? Do my 3 relies have to be in different threads?

  • Do you REALLY want to start?

If you REALLY want to start, read the first post. You have to have 3 posts and be on here for a min of 24 hours.

If you have issues - PM Hippy :-)

  • Welcome from sunny Bristol! Will get some pics up of my 2 racers in due course...

  • Welcome to the forum Kalkhoff, there's been an influx of Bristolians on the forum lately.
Had a Kalkhoff bike when I was a teenager, no fond memories of it unfortunately.

haha! My brother converted it to single speed a couple of weeks ago, it's a flyer now!

  • hiya im steve, ive got a peugeot 501,and a bob jackson 521,im brand new to this game and want to learn as i go,im thinking of putting pics of my bikes up to get feedback,im a bit clueless on bikes, ive been bob jacksons shop regarding a respray, and the guys were very helpful,i recently bought the bob jackson and washed it down with muc off but left it on too long and it took the laquer off, then i touched it up with a small pot that the previous owner gave me,but the colour didnt match, anyway ive decided on a respray, and ive joined this forum to learn more about the hobby...:)

  • Brave choice for a user name. And you might want to invest in a few full stops. At the end of sentences. Before you run out of breath and collapse and someone has to call an ambulance, and take you to hospital, where the doctor will see you, and you will get treatment, and then you will be all well again, and........

    Welcome, by the way.

  • Great things i think,i'm new here too
To be honest in my country lots and lots of spammer hanging around, shit hate them alot
    Love to be here

  • Welcome Sagami!Welcome Virgin;-)

  • Welcome Sagami!Welcome Virgin;-)

Trying that angle now are we?

  • Not at all!

  • Im just gonna have a go at uploading a pic this is my first attempt,if i balls it up please laugh :)

  • No, worked fine. Exemplary work, with thumbnails. :)

  • Seems it worked, the guy i bought this off is a real gent,he has muscle wasting disease, and balance problems,im hoping to lovingly restore it,opinions would be appreciated,im buzzing bout joining this forum thanks velocity..!!! :) hes had it 25 years from new build its a 21 inch frame from wot im told am 5ft 10 n a bit im in ashton if youd like to look closer

  • Cheers oliver so wot you think of it,i havent got a clue its my third bike im new to biking its a tourer i believe audax frame,

  • I'm not an expert, but it seems like a nice old frame. If it doesn't have any hidden faults (e.g., crash damage) and it's the right size for you, it should serve you well.

  • Hes 67 the guy i bought it off,it was manky wen i got it,like a plonker i washed it in the bath with muc off but kept it on too long and took top laquer off,ive been bob jacksons shop re-a respray, ive took the bags off carradice, there a bit worn, ive cleaned it up since these pics,it looks different now,im prepared to spend money on it,but would like it sprayed before any extras, the decals are a bit worn its 521 double butted so he says, weinmann brakes,im very impressed just to own a bob jackson,my others a peugeot 501 racer, and i got a claude butler mercury,im just gonna listen to the experts and go with the flow :)
