Stolen bikes

  • Thank you so much fellows :-)

At least in London there is a bit of hope for cyclists that things will get a ,,micro bit'' better but in small towns you just wouldn't believe how the police approaches these things. I am wondering if per example a nicked bike is spotted somewhere and the coppers called, are they obligated to get their excellences out and recover it or it all depends on their good will?
is anyone among us here fond of law and such things to give a bit of guidance about our rights to seek justice from law enforcement organizations such as the police?

"The muggings came to light after an internet blogger recounted being brutally assaulted earlier this month as he rode home on the junction between De Beauvoir Rd and Northchurch Rd, in the early hours of the morning."

  • Yes--the reporter posted this earlier:

    Hi,

I'm a reporter at the Hackney Gazette and read your post about getting mugged on your bike.
Could you give me a call on 020 7791 7788? We don;t have to use your name if you don't want to...

    Cheers

  • Hi everyone, my first post here and wish it would be about another subject but still, my bike, which was to be converted to single speed, got nicked last wednesday from the walkaway outside my apt on the second floor in Bermondsey.

The bike was a quite used Peugeot, costed me £80 a few weeks ago and I had only ridden it once.

    The lock (dont laugh):

If you see it around give me a call pleeeaaaase on 07554-153233

  • Amir is back ! All look dodge but even if it's legit let's take some time out on a dreary Friday and immerse ourselves in the king of sales patter. "Superflous wheels!"

  • Has anyone lost a Black charge racer with white wheels & a red chain looks like new,
    someone selling this bike, cheap

  • Guys, beleive it or not. I managed to recover the gitane :-)
I spotted a fucking asshole riding it a couplee of streets away from my house. I shouted and stoped him. He immediately suspected what 's gonna happen left the bike and ran away.
Damn dickhead has managed to escape into a council estate unfortunately...
Anyway, I am still looking for the remaining three bikes
    Will keep you updated

Almost identical description, location, photo background, but all with different mobile numbers with no name... ha![quote]

That could easily be a legit advertiser. those bikes go super cheap in less cycle minded places. not sure about those particulr ones of course :-)

  • Unfortunately cable locks are useless as a primary lock in London.

  • A friend locked his bike up on calvert avenue last night for a couple of hours, in that time many components were stolen by some cnuts.

    Chrome Bianchi Pista Forks
Miche Primato front brake caliper (black)
    Cane Creek headset (silver)
Dia Compe dual pivot brake lever (silver)
Chrome deep v on high flange hub (front wheel)
    Campag seatpost
    Rolls saddle
Cinelli Risers with clear oury grips

He doesn't really expect to get any of it back but he is gutted about it.

  • Fuck, how depressing... Everyone get those BB's glued into your allen heads... and use two locks...

  • sounds like someone with a set of allen keys on them...wait, they took the whole headset?

  • Hi mate sorry for that but Yh anyway If I return them to you or find out who did this can I keep one of the biomes as payment

  • what?

  • I think part of the headset, you'd need an entirely different tools to removed them.

  • Oscar, if you knew who did this, the best thing to do is come clean.

Don't try and ask for reward, this is up to the owner to decided, not you.

  • they took as much of the headset as possible, left the cups in. they didnt take the miche primato chain ring or crankset which is strange.
My friend put a lock through his front wheel and forks but not the frame stupidly. (he will learn from this)
@oscarkhan, how about if you know where this stuff is you give it back and we reward you by not calling the police on you and not having a mob after you...

  • they didnt take the miche primato chain ring or crankset which is strange.

    smart guys

  • If they had seen the miche bb they would have left that too! what was that chinese couple about yesterday?

  • Hey Oscar why don't you return the stuff and your reward will be not getting the piss kicked out of you. Call it karma.

  • oscar do the right thing, dont try to profit from somebody elses loss

  • I PM'd him an hour ago, still no reply.

  • Just had a look at this guy oscarkhan's previous posts. It sounds as if he hasnt got a clue what hes talking about.
Hes a cnut and was prob bullshitting about knowing what happened to these stolen parts.
