I fucking love these blue bikes.
Im using them quite a lot for when I dont want the worry of locking up my bike . Took my sis out in the park a couple of times on one and she's had a hoot. She'll be registering as soon as she gets some cycle training.

As I broke my crank arm this morning I think I'll be using mine more...

Photoben, I have a spare set of 170 arms if you need to borrow as a stop gap. Stronglight. They're all fucked, but I think they work. No crank bolts though/

Thing is though until they put a docking station near my house I've not much call to use them. I rarely go from point to point across central London. Just in from outside the ring of hire stations. I do like the idea though.

surely you've no room for any more stickers on your bike sumo, and you're already barclay tagged

Cheers man, think I've got a spare knocking around but I'll PM ya if not. Can't cycle for ten days anyway so in no rush.

I had to bail one of them out the other day and lend him my pump as he had a puncture. Not that I could be smug about it as he cycled up while I was replacing a tube after a blow out...
Eff me though, people on the blue meanies don't know anything about flowing with the traffic and are hilarious when they swerve around you to get in front at lights only to be overtaken.
-
• #862
To be fair though, there are plenty of cyclists who have their own bikes and know naff all about flowing with traffic and getting all up in multiple grills.
-
• #863
I haven't seen near the amount of wobbly and poor cycling on the blue bikes as I expected to. Not more than any other bikes at least.
-
• #864
well it's not casual use yet is it.
-
• #865
Buy a bike it's cheaper than renting one of these and safer

Apologies if this recently discussed (I have utfs) but using the CycleHireLite Android widgit y'day was standing by a full rack of bikes in the West End y'day pm, and the widgit said there were 4 spaces..... yet the rack was full.
Anyone else experienced any significant discrepencies in accuracy?

It reckoned there were 38 bikes in the racks next to my work yesterday, there are only 20 racks!

docked a bike in at albert gate hyde park yesterday morning and no green light.
Phone customer services and assured me it would be sorted. Guess what it wasn't. Key now disabled and system claims I still have the bike and bike is "missing". Great! -

^ Shite-o-la. The really annoying thing about stuff like that is having to take time out of your life to phone disinterested people and explain your story over and over again until you're reimbursed.
Tube strike today resulted in all bikes to the west being deposited in the city & and Kings X.
Due to chocca roads, those little distro-buggies couldn't get around quick enough to redistribute.
Bit of a clusterfuck really. -

I find that cabbies seem to aim for you when on a bb. I also feel obliged to stop at red lights.
-
• #872
you need to stop at red lights!? What is the world coming to?
There's no need to worry about a car hitting you though, they will take more damage than you. -

Great!Despite no ring back from as promised after each of the three calls I had to make, I checked last night and my 32 hour rental was closed with no charge.

BB bloody good for wet weather I feel. No wet arse and feet.
I found one of those 'fuck' stickers on the floor next to the docking station on Webber Street last night. They're transparent plastic, not Barclays blue. Picked it up and stuck it back on the nearest bike.
