1.It is quite a lot of money that we will end up giving them, did you discuss a seasonal (3/4 month) contract with them?
we've now agreed that they won't hold us to a contract. I'd initially said we would be up for a six month deal to tempt them to go for the lower price. No dice. So the inverse is now a benefit - no contract, just monthly as we go. If we fall on our ass coughing up, there's damage limitation in not having to fulfill 6 months worth. By paying a month in advance we at least know we can play.
2.Will they have the lights ready for us next thursday?
3 of the four sets of lights are currently working. They won't put in for repair until we or others start usuing the courts. I'd guess we'll be fine on 3, but obviously we could look at asking for a reduction if they don't get fixed in a reasonable timeframe.
3.Does the agreement reached include them giving us keys to be able to use the court during daylight hours?
my understanding is that we get a key and can use the courts at any other daylight time as long as no other group has made a proper booking. No other group is interested as of this moment except for netball on Monday evenings.
4.What are our rights to use the indoor facilities, as paying users? (what is indoors?)
good question. The main limiting factor is that we'll be playing at night when the facility is closed AFAIK. I'll probe further. There is a high spec basketball court, changing rooms, a library and all manner of dance suites - feel free to go and have a look around...
5.Can we host tournaments & fundraising events here?
yes - subject to being an organised group and having liability insurance (WiP). There may be on costs for other facilities such as catering etc. They are amenable to our cause - we need to make ourselves known and trusted ASA, then we can press for more.
