  • Si might be up for it?> he's finished his PHD now

  • it sure is. how do you wanna do pickup/drop off? i live in castlefield, you're around chorlton right?

After thinking about it, it might be a bit of a hassle. Think the only option would be for you to ride 2 bikes to polo tonight leave the loaner with me then vice versa on Thursday. Does riding 2 bikes even work? ... Obviously not actually riding both of them but you know what I mean.

morgans loaner bike isnt actually a bad all round bike, so you could always go to Marks, leave your bike their for a day or so while you use the loaner bike?

  • there should be puntuation here but my heyboard is high

riding two bikes is easy hold the one you ride by the handlebars and the other one by the stem and pull it along

if youre nervous about using the bike for a few days because of the condition of the back tyre dont be because im bringing a new tyre for it today

  • Are we.on for polo tonight? Om gna be late as I gotta do stuff in towm, n got a puncture

Yeh but can you do skids and wheelies at the same time?

  • Yeah we're on for tonight! we agreed to make it for 5.00 but steve says he'll be there about 6 right? you about 6 too woody? i havent got a mallet atm so i'm going to have to sort something out.

I'll be there at 5.30 and i'll clean the court or something

  • why don't you use my mallett?

That would work, much better solution.

    yeah do this, rob.

  • Greaat polo last night, it doesnt take many of us to make it happen ! My highlight was definetly steve saying "if that wasnt my mallet, i would have hit it about 3 times already!" brilliant!
    Polo should be more often.
Neil is going to hear from PH board today so everyone pray to the almighty mallet (or deity of choice)!

  • used the new balls last night, there different from any we have had before but very good, defiantly the new standard. payment update:**

    yoav £5.50
    paul £10.50
    chan £5.50
    Emma £5.50
    Woody £5.50**

  • Powerhouse Update - Wednesday 29th September

The PH Board knocked back our offer and want the full £25 per session.

So we're ready to go next Thursday October 7th subject to us collectively getting our sh1t together to agree to pay 1 month in advance ie. £100 for four sessions.

The upside is that we have negotiated an extra hour each session (3 instead of 2 hours) 6.30 - 9.30pm within this cost.

My view is that we are not strong enough to get 10+ players every Thursday without fail. Even achieving that would mean £2.50 each per night and the chances of everyone bringing that cash everytime is less than zero and will undoubtedly lead to, ahem, 'disagreements'....

The way forward I see is that each of us 'register' to be a Thursday regular and as such will stump up £10 per month** in advance** to make sure we secure the court. Any extra cash we get from not registered or monthly payers we can either divvy out between us or set aside for future months.

So if you want me to organise this for Month 1 I need to see 10 names on the list below quickly that are happy and able to give me £10 between now and next Thursday (when I have agreed to take a cheque in before we play) - no ifs, no buts, no IOUs....

    1. Neil - £10 PAID
      2.

Obviously if anyone has a better method - feel free to step in...

  • Powehouse update on the MHPA thread - PLEASE READ!

    1. Neil - £10 PAID
    2. Ste - pay when i next see you
  • is anything happening tomorrow?
no powerhouse means no lights and we found out on Tuesday that means about 3 games, whats the plan?

has anyone been to Manley park recently while its dark, could someone living nearby have a look tonight?

  • Isn't it mostly about Ben's tap out/social tomorrow night - hence Whitworth?

  • i'm in, but shouldn't we see how many we get before deciding a cost? obviously it will be cheaper if we get more than 10 people but if we get less, we may decide to go ahead anyway and pay more each? just a thought but maybe start a list every month, say a week before we have to pay to decide how many we're splitting it between...

    first month:

    1. Neil
    2. Ste
    3. Yoav
  • oh, and nice one Neil! £100 for 12 hours of floodlit polo is a bargain!

The point I'm trying to get across is that MCR polo doesn't actually have 10 players to commit to this winter programme (despite the talk) IMHO.

Let's see if 10 step up for Month 1 - if not, it'll cost us (currently 3!) a whole lot more than a tenner!

  • fair point, i'm in anyway.

  • first month:

    1. Neil
    2. Ste
    3. Yoav
    4. Chan (will pay on sunday, also ste i'll pay for the balls then)

  • 1.It is quite a lot of money that we will end up giving them, did you discuss a seasonal (3/4 month) contract with them?

2.Will they have the lights ready for us next thursday?

3.Does the agreement reached include them giving us keys to be able to use the court during daylight hours?

4.What are our rights to use the indoor facilities, as paying users? (what is indoors?)

5.Can we host tournaments & fundraising events here?
