    will improve matters. It will also speed up client-side rendering and you can lose a few CSS rules along the way.

    The point still stands with regard to the other markup issues from a semantic standpoint:

    s are wrong for the forums list (should probably be ul), and the footer tags should be what groups the lists and headers, not surrounding

    And is a container element, not a heading element, so the correct use is something like:

    Heading


    Subheading


    Some precis paragraph about the page content


    Google will give you even more points for using the new markup correctly* :-)
