My NL friend is selling this very tasty Nishiki Competition

    More pics here: http://s597.photobucket.com/albums/tt55/Telsun/Nishiki/

    Commentary from him:

Like I said before, the bike is actually my pride and joy. I fell in love with all the satin finished Suntour and Gran Compe parts and the overall quality. Personally I prefer these above some Shimano components from the era. But unfortunately it is too short for me resulting in having a light backache after every ride, so I have decided to reluctatntly sell it.

The bike is in a very good original condition. It is in completely original condition right down to the little rubber thingies in the caliper bolts. Although I have added the saddle, the tape, nitto cage and bottle, lever hoods, the MKS toeclips and the Wellgro straps, so these are all new. I have riden it only 150km after this. I also added the NOS Suntour mountain cassette, as I planned to use this bike in Italy . The original Suntour cassette with 14-18t is there too, so I can add that. All parts are in excellent condition, so no signs of real wear, which can be seen from the pictures. I also have the original Nishiki saddle if that is preferred, it is a suede type saddle but has some paint spots on it. This will also lower the price of the bike by 45 pounds .

The not-perfect things. The cranks have some very light wear where the toestraps have rubbed. Further, as you might have seen, one end cap of the Brooks handlebar tape is missing. It must have happened on the last ride. I think the bike has been stored most of its life, but probably against something. There is some lacquer damage on the toptube as can be seen in pictures, plus some spots on the seatstay. They have been touched up by the previous owner with black, and I must say that from a few feet away, it is not noticable. All decalls are in very fine condition. Some chrome parts have slight pitting, but luckily it does not have many, so it is limited, to the brake cable bolt, the caliper bolt and very lightly on the quick release handles. Tires I am not really sure, I have used them up till now, but don’t know anything about the age.

All in all, this is very fine classic bike that deserves to be treated well. I guess it has not seen the road for more then 500km in all during its 32 years of life!

He would like £425 including postage from NL
