  • Up for grabs is my ALAN road frame from the early 90's.

54 cm seat tube and top tube (both centre to centre).

Campagnolo Chorus headset and Record bottom bracket, both of which are running silky smooth.

A couple of blemishes respective with age but nothing serious and absolutely no structural damage.

It's currently hanging on my wall which, to be honest, is where I wouldn't mind it staying. However, I have just run my commuter into the ground so need to raise some dorruh for a replacement!

    More pics here.

Looking for £180 collected from E2 (or trade plus cash your way for a suitable commuter. WHY?)

  • pretty!

  • Lust!

  • pretty!

    this.

  • bargain

  • is there a date stamp on the seat tube?

  • no date stamp that i can find but the bb shell reads 139454.

  • I wish I had more money! Poor me!!

think thats an alan super record. i read that some (early) ones had date stamps on the seat tube - just wondered about date (out of interest only) as most around seem to be from 70's or 80's
these are supposed to be nice frames -
aluminium tubes threaded and bonded - just lighter than steel for the time

i wish i had smaller body parts

    thank you for the info!

i would be more than happy to loose a few inches (in height) for this frame to fit me.

  • that is a super record- i've got one the same- and i paid a lot more
    than this one - bargain

  • actually sorry - i think its a record- mine has a different seat stay cluster

think you might be right - does yours have cutouts in the lugs and fork crown?

  • does lug cutouts mean super-record? mine looks damn similar to the one here being sold, but a little scruffier, solid lugs...only had it a couple of weeks

  • was just going by the brochure here
    http://www.classicrendezvous.com/Italy/alan.htm

  • was there such a model as the 'record'? might be a 'competition'.

  • beautiful, shame its too small for me

  • there should be a stamp of make and model on the drive side just below the seat post cluster, mine says COMP 1984. http://www.classicrendezvous.com/Italy/alan.htm

    • ALAN bike web pic.jpg
  • found a pic of when it was built up - maybe if i just leave it here...

  • How tall are you Eamesy? am interested but think it might be a little small. Would you be willing to post?

  • Hi,
what is your buget for your commuter?
I have a Guerciotti record (purchased from Planet X last week) frameset Built up with Shimano 5600 ,
perhaps we could do a part ex
    Regards

  • should have included in the post... i'm 6"2' so obviously this frame is waaaayyy too small for me and would need something considerably bigger to commute on.

mrblue: as cheap as possible to be honest. it'g gonna be locked up in covent garden 60+ hours a week while i'm working so the less flashy the better, haha! what size is it though?

  • and will you post......?

  • haha, sorry! yes will post - should be an extra £20?

  • Na, too small for you 54 x54 and too good to be left outside.

    Regards
