My initial training for this will be to keep up the 12 miles each way commuting on a daily basis. Not much but very valuable.
On top of that I'm going to keep doing at least one 200k audax every month. Probably try to work in some mid week training as well (I'm thinking of taking up some spinning classes) and making sure I do at least half a day's riding on every weekend, whatever the weather. I might do cyclocross races as well. All of that is to try and keep my fitness topped up, my speed reasonable and my weight down.
As soon as the weather breaks then it's proper long rides three weekends in four and as soon as it starts I'll pick up the local 10 mile TT league.
Not sure which qualification rides I'll be doing yet. Waiting for the calendar to be published later on.
