Seriously though, many women might find the tone of some of the written content of the forum offputting. That's very similar for a lot of bike related sites sadly. If I wanted to do a bit of research or ask some questions relating to a new interest in bikes, I'd be looking to a forum like this one. I'd ask my partner questions, do a bit of research etc.

It would sadden me to think that any potential new rider or someone picking cycling back up might be put off by that, and I think it occurs to the degree that over-sensitivity cannot be used as a get out clause.

Tone of humour is often lost on the internet of course. Do be assured that I am not upset, angry or personally offended.
