  • Hemmingford Arms, N1 is quirky in its own try-hard sort of way. That's all I can really contribute to the thread :(

  • montague arms, new cross gate

    another vote for this pub.
    crackers.

And another vote, great little pub. Very odd inside.

  • The Glad in Borough, great little pub. They also serve the worlds best ale: Tribute.

  • The Ship on Talbot Court

It's a bit "city" but there's a great alleyway for discarding bikes in and since 60 Gracechurch St emptied it's not so busy. Closed at weekend.

  • The Mitre has tons of bike parking in Ely place too.

The Swan and Edgar in Linhope St NW1 is a bit quirky. The sign outside, and the bar are made of books.
It used to be the Feathers, which I believe was the smallest pub in England, but now they've taken out the crappy bricks over the chimney and the old bar it's a bit bigger inside.

  • And there's the George Inn in Borough

  • That must be the hardest pub in London to get a beer in, BQ.

The Miller in SE1 is one of the best pubs in London IMO.

Also, the Lord Nelson on Union St is pretty weird.

  • Is it just me or has the Toucan been demolished?

  • Have you been demolished?

  • I'm gonna get demolished on this ride. Fuck yueaah!

  • Have you been demolished?

Is the pope an epic muptard in a giant dart suit?

  • Is it just me or has the Toucan been demolished?

But seriously I went to get a drink there the other day and there would appear to be a large faceless and recently finished office building in place of the Toucan. Cnuts.

  • Excellent idea...

Jerusalem Tavern - tiny, quite old looking...

+1 I really like the Jerusalem.

Also, how about the Bree Louise? It's not that quirky, but it does have a whole load of ales. http://www.thebreelouise.com/

I would like to do this ride.

    Me too.

    Is there a day/time yet?

  • The toucan was still there on the Guinness ride...

Apparently the smallest pub in London might be the Cask and Glass. 39 Palace Street, Westminster, London, SW1.

Said to be the smallest London pub and I must admit they don't come much smaller, in fact the first time I popped in for a pint a few years ago, I was told that they were only sold in half pints, as there was not enough room to store pint glasses! It was first known as the Duke of Cambridge, and is said to have been the first London pub to serve Shepherd Neame's beers. It is the Queens local pub too, being the nearest pub to Buckingham Palace.

  • Even if i don't manage to go on this ride, think i'll be set up with good pubs to go to for a quite a while.

  • As far as I heard the "Monty" in NCG needs a bit of help really. They used to live of the tourist buses hat stopped when they went towards Dover, but with the redoing of the road layout they're not allowed to stop there anymore.

It's a great pub, run by some seriously old people who oddly enough always have some goldsmiths students and weird bands there.
Sunday roast goes for cheap as well.

This pub is just round my corner, but I hardly ever go out cuz I'm boring.

  • Is there a day/time yet?

Not yet, however I propose we make it on a saturday around the middle of october, perhaps the 9th or 16th. Please speak now, or forever hold your piece......

  • 9th is brighton ride
    16th i am in dublin

are there any other possiblities?? whaty about sunday 10th? would love to come - but i realise you can't please everyone...

  • It's good to talk, as they say. A sunday could also be full of win.

  • 9th is brighton ride
16th is the 'joy of essex' ride and the Bicycle film fest
    23rd is OPEN

  • 10th?

  • Also, how about the Bree Louise? It's not that quirky, but it does have a whole load of ales. http://www.thebreelouise.com/

    Me too.

    Is there a day/time yet?

Top pub. Has given me many hangovers.

They also have a tequila bar, lots of strange ciders and do 2 pint takeaway bottles.

  • montague arms, new cross gate

    best ever

  • Friday night a la the Guinness ride might be the most fun option, although that did result in perhaps too much drunken mayhem.

  • +1 for the Glad in Borough.

Full of Peter Sutcliffe's but good ale and when we asked if we could bring our fish & chips in the barman said "of course mate, I'm not a fucking nazi" - he wasn't.

We proceeded to vinegarstink the place out.
