Are you sat in some sort of Mountain based pub? Looks strangely familiar but can't quite put my finger on it!

It looks like there's a mirror behind the camera whereby you and the eagle are mutually eyeing eachother up.

Not the first time that's happened.

Hahah, me too! I was up in Le Village though, the (mostly) Dutch and Belgium section.
I regularly came down for Hotel Sherpa, some snicker-/mars-/bounty-vodka shots at Polar and the wednesdaynight Smithy's parties.
Where were you working? -

Would love to see it with Brooks-taped drops though.. :)yep, agreed. got a few sets of bars to play with. I'm just waiting for the right stem to come along.

Bones,
Love that bike, the red accent does make a nice different, if you want your bike to look 'right' (without riser), I'd suggest checking Velo Orange stuff for those lovely moustache bar (like the porteur bar) that wouldn't look out of place on your track frame, like this;

Not to pick a fight, but why are those moustache bars 'right' and risers 'not'?
I can understand why certain people would like to see drops on bikes, but I don't really think there's that much difference in risers or moustache on that bike? -
• #10744
moustache bars has been aorund as long (if not more) than drops
riser only since the MTB (please, correctme if I'm wrong)so, people support ones but conden the other, me thinks

Exactly, just like that saddle, those tires, the fecking cable around the TT and that rescue
torch in the front, the rubber grips, System-EX seatpost, ... a truly magnificent period build.
;) -
• #10746
Nice Carlton btw. Shame the risers.
-
• #10747
yeah yeah go on, write a list!
photos were an example of the bar really, rather than the whole bike which I hasn't quite finish with at the time but wanted to ride it ASAP.

• #10748
BUt Ed, I'm not disagreeing about your bike. I've done the same to my Carlton, I rather have nice components than respect the period ones... fuck that.
It was funny though that you've posted your path frame built like that, as an example (i know, of bars..), when I remember it being done quite nicely (well, better looking at least). -

I thought so.
Still, I think that risers look more racey and thus better on a bike like that, besides drops ofc. -

I agree with you, but unfortunately for us, risers on track bikes are not a la mode.
Sounds sexy, post a pic when your finished would be good to see, I have a black frame also and looking to sexy it up a bit - want some 5 spokes on the front of mine. I love those sloping top tubes hopefully I'll come across a cheap one soon.
