For Sale: Raleigh Road Ace 1984 22.5"

Here's my Raleigh Road Ace 1984 model (22.5")

The one bike I said I would never sell... it took buying Road Aces in double figures to be able to piece one together this good in my size (22.5").

I've since acquired an '85 Colnago Master which I have fallen for big time, so the Road Ace is sadly for the chop.

Groupset is all Shimano 600AX, with Dura Ace AX bars. Mavic GP4 rims, Iscaselle saddle. It's very original, the bar tape is what it left the shop with. The bike has done zero miles since I have owned it, all NOS has been fitted but not ridden.

Following items are NOS:

• Rear mech
  
• Front mech
  
• Downtube levers
  
• Both brakes calipers
  
• All brake blocks (super rare)
  
• Cable tie clip (another rare item)
  
  

There are a few tiny 'upgrades' which are:

• NOS Dura Ace AX centre pulls on the calipers
  
• NOS Dura Ace AX stem cap (its metal instead of the blue plastic)
  
  

And one spec error:

• Tyres are Clement Futura's (one of the last Thai made with the old style logo), these would be a good alternative to the super rare Ritmos the 1983 model should have - but as this is '84 it should be wearing Vittorias....
  
  

The remainder are the best of parts I sourced from buying double figures of Road Aces... most Road Aces you will find are in very poor shape these days with the key components coming off worst.

Frame is free from dents and is the second smartest frame I have ever seen, the only one that bettered it was too big for me.

The bike was not fully stripped, so has the potential to clean up better than these pictures show, bottle cage has since been removed and no I don't have the original Aero AX bottle - but if you can find one expect to pay £35-50 for a used one!:
