Aha, like Ely Place: not actually in London, nor in the LB of Camden, so I've heard, but technically part of Ely, it was the Bishop of Ely's residence. Presumably why the oub is named after something ecclesiatical. Ely Place is the site of Britain's only reconsecrated catholic church, St Ethelreda's.
