Take extra care when locking your bike in Mornington Crescent. Saw some kids trying to nick locked bikes via leverage attacks on some of the estates around there. Warned the victims but keep your eyes peeled.
Might as well describe them.. All about 11 to 16 in a gang of four. Oldest one was white, a smoker with brown / blond hair - basically a stocky chav on a scruffy MTB. The next one looked like a young Richard Ashcroft, wearing a black hoody and bottoms on a nice black mtb/trials bike. The last two looked really Sesame Street. A little Asian/East-European kid in over-sized black garb, black beanie hat with a little mousey face on an MTB clearly to big for him. Finally a little black kid, with a green and black stripey t-shirt with denim shorts sporting a short afro - no MTB.
They were pretty content in going up four flights of stairs to target bikes, in early daylight, in full view of everyone.
P.S No racial slurs intended at all

some cunt walked into our backyard (SW18) overnight and walked away with my kona dew hybrid. cheap as chips but it's a bike that gets the most use. i use it to get to work and for taking my son to nursery. i use it pretty much everyday. it will now cost me a lot more £££ and time to get to work and nursery, both of which i have very little of. thanks cunt.
pic attached. small-medium sized blue frame. ive converted it into a singlespeed. tensioner is like the powerplay ones. triple chainset with the chain in the middle ring. flat pedals (no cage). v-brakes with integrated brake/gear levers. slightly un-trued front wheel. newish 35c tyres. grip is slightly ripped at the ends. the childseat was left behind but the mount should still be on the seat tube.

Friend of mine has had his mtb nicked, details as follows -
Cannondale SL510 mtb, large, red and white with white saddle.
Was locked up with 2 locks outside the Crown pub on Holloway Rd on Saturday 18th Sept between 5.30pm and 6.30pm.
Have told him to check out gumtree and have a walk down Brick Lane.
Any other places to look ?

One last thing. I'd like to reiterate that the rear trispoke wheel was originally white with graphics on but I sprayed it with matt black acrylic (and grey primer). If anyone sees one like that the reward is still in the offing.
Good to know that the scumbags who nick our bikes don't look at this site - otherwise surely I'd have got a call, or maybe they're just more fucking stupid that I thought.

A friends bike was stolen at the weekend.
They even cut through another bike to steal his one.
2007 Condor Leggero Prototype
Rapha/Condor team colours
Size 61cm Sloping
Full 2007 Dura Ace groupset
Deda 130mm Stem
Deda 44cm bars
Deda Blackstick Seatpost
Fizik Arione Rapha/Condor team edition saddle
Black Speedplay Zero’s
DT Swiss rims on Chris King hubs (although they very kindly left the front wheel)
Garmin 705 bar mount + sensors
Heavy wrub marks on both forks on left hand side from transport"locked to a bike rail on St John’s Street. 2 bikes locked together with 3 locks, mine was on the inside. Locked witch an Abus cable lock through outside bikes front and my bikes rear. Kryptonite Mini D through my bikes front and outside bikes rear. And Abus big D through outside bikes frame, through my (but not actually across any of the tubes) and on to the bike rail.
Cable lock was cut with big bolt cutters, undid quick release on my front wheel and cut through the frame of the outside bike to get rid of the final lock. All in all would have taken less than 20 seconds to do."

I feel for him (I know who he is) but I have to ask myself why on earth would anyone leave such a bike locked anywhere in public! What is it worth, 2-3 grand? Ouch. :(

I was attacked on my bike at 2am a few weeks ago on De Beauvoir Rd and Northchurch Rd. A guy sprints out of the shadows from the other side wearing a balaclava, pushes me into a high curb, I fly headfirst into a wall and him and another balaclava'd accomplice kick the shit out of me as I'm on the floor. They threaten to stab me, steal my bag and my bike (old Peugeot steel frame custom build - not worth much). End up in A&E with fractured toe and lots of skin missing from multiple limbs. Police told me there's been over 15 similar attacks on this stretch of road in 2 months. Guess I don't need to spell out that's it's a good idea to avoid this route home at night.
