  • i really miss using my holgaroid. anyone seen any suitable film around, let me know :)

i think i might have a pack or two of Polaroid 600 kicking around, but it'll be well out of date. the last time i put a pack into a camera it spat all the photos out one by one without me touching anything :( i think the whole battery-in-the-film-pack concept has severe limitations... but if i can find them do you want them?

  • not mine - some really beautiful polaroids a Rhiannon Adam on flickr

  • anyone have a light meter(sekonic, minolta, etc) they want to sell?

i have a pentax spotmeter V for sale
    £125

far more useful than an incident light meter

looks like this. (not my pic)

especially useful for black and white. if you can get your head round how the zone system works you will have perfectly exposed negs every time and know exactly how much detail you will hold in highlights and shadows.
i made my own zone system sticker for the readout dial.

will include a copy of Zone VI the fine print in B&W photography by fred picker.
once you have read the first 2 chapters on exposure and the zone system you will be good to go.

  • nice desktop background that. lovely. if you don't mind of course. :D

    Not at all!

  • This arrived today! i am so excited... Still have to get a lens for it so if anyone has a 35/50mm for sale i am looking.

  • I have a 90mm I rarely use should you require at some stage down the line.

  • out of interested how much would you want for it?

  • i would look at the zeiss m-mount lenses instead of leica's overpriced offerings

camera fetishists and measurebators would be horrified though.

  • yeah i was having a look at those. might make it a little more affordable for me as i dont have crazy loot.

    thanks for the tip!

  • or the voightlander ones. even cheaper

    nice lens to start with

  • What about the m-rokkor lenses that came with the minolta CLE? Been reading up on that camera for a while but not that clued up on lenses

Bingo, can be found for cheap second hand too.

    I rate the 40mm F/1.4 highly;

I found 40mm to be a perfect compromise between a 35mm and 50mm lens, especially with a fast aperture.

  • +1 on voigtlander - I have the 35mm 1.4 nokton on my m6 - really nice lens and its tiny, the only problem with the 40 is the lack of brightlines on the m6 for it...

  • Good point, has forgetting about the brightline on the Leica, was so used to the various option on the Bessa.

  • What about the m-rokkor lenses that came with the minolta CLE? Been reading up on that camera for a while but not that clued up on lenses

Rokkor lenses are fantastich, maybe not zeiss standard but close. I've been using minolta systems for over 5 years now, the lenses are easily the best thing going for them.
    A great resource here: http://www.rokkorfiles.com/

  • I use the Nokton 40/1.4 all of the time. Great lens. It will bring up the 50mm frameline when attached but it is no big deal.

  • Anyone here have any experience of Genie Imaging by Wandsworth Common station?

    Very nice.

Have M6's came down much in price since the other leicas are around?

  • Very nice.

Seem to be going for around 700-1000 on the bay (m6 non tll/classic or what ever they call it.). Cheapest i found it sold for was 500 but i got mine for a really good price considering the condition so well chuffed. just cant make my mind up about which lens now. Defo want a 35mm but do i go leica, zeiss or voightlander?

  • voightlander, they work and does the job, well prices too.

+1 from what I've seen they are brilliant lens for the money.

  • Reet, just scanned a whole bunch of photos from the last few months. Here we go.

    Wee dug.

Sorry for posting so many images at once, hope it's not seen as bad form - I'm just really behind on my scanning and developing!
All shot on an Olympus OM20 body (crap) with a Zuiko 28mm f1.4 (i think) and mainly on Velvia 100 slide film.
