Is the axle hollow? If so, could you not use a QR skewer?

bit expensive for what's basically a nut and bolt though

If you are around Deptford you could bring it to our workshop on Saturday morning- I have tools that usually work on seized BB's plus I have some toxic penetrating oil that works wonders. Im at the Deptford project- SE8 4NS

Little update, bottom bracket has been removed but ended up smashing one cup to pieces.
2-3 hours hammering and a badly cut left hand.
Worth the pain though!!

Oh, might be wrong about octalink being 9 years old.
Bottom bracket wasn't hollow so nut and bolt was best idea especially the tool that screws in.
Paint around BB didn't bother me too much, tried boiling water = waste of time.
If this problems arises in future, will definitely give Knowthejo a try.
Cheers everyone!

and this thread was in classifieds because?..
Tackling a bottom bracket that hasn't seen light of day for 9 years.
I'm using a tool which accommodates 8mm allen key, but the tool keeps slipping.
I've read hammering with a screwdriver helps, tried but no luck. Have used an extension to get more leverage but slipping becomes worse.
Does anyone have a way of attaching the tool so it doesn't slip? Also does anyone have a tool which can be used with a breaker bar?
