  • Polo mends all ills.
Get it done matey, or use the poloaner.

I should be there for 6pm.

  • If you got the parts, I've got the tools, need a hand at finishing ur bike up?

I'm gonna try and build up a new polobike today but what is more likely to happen is that I end up with just several half bikes and nothing to play on. Dunno whether to bother that said, really want to play. Need cheering up.

  • I should have the parts for at least one of the frames, at the expense of Prick which is far too big for me.

I nearly have all the parts for my brothers, but I need an octolink BB, bars and a saddle.

  • I have some flat bars you can have dude. Reg size.

See if any of the polo crew have the others.

  • I'm in tonight. i can be there from 6ish if anyone else with a ball is around then....

  • fucking cottered cranks are the bane of my life.

  • There's a guy on the Bay who will supply you with square tapered axles to convert your current cottered bb for 7 quid including P&P. Just pop off the cranks and get the code from the axle and match it to the ones shown on the chart.

fucking cottered cranks are the bane of my life.

  • It was just getting them off, in the end I got a sledgehammer and a punch, was worried I'd fuck the frame but my aim is awesome, apparently.

Cheers for the info, though, cus my girlfriends Coventry Eagle restoration currently has cotters... THing is, I really would like to preserve the chainring. It has cutouts of eagles in it, it looks so fucking rad, and the teeth are hardly worn!

UNFORTUNATELY THE FUCKING PEDALS ARE WELDED WITH RUST TO THE FUCKER.

I am not in a great mood of late but mechanics seems to be helping. Despite the above rants.

  • im in tonight, should be there about 6.15 with a ball so we can have a knock around while we wait for others

  • It's not gonna get done. I am raiding my savings for this bob jackson find.

soak it in ammonia - it worked on my seatpost once. Not sure of the princicple though - i think it needs to be two different types of metal that have bonded so if your pedal axle and crank is the same it might not work.

  • shit guys, im out
    its brentford vs everton tonight.

    COME ON BRENTFORD!!!

    #whiningbluenoses

  • I'll be stoppin by around 5:30 - 6pm!

  • Nice to see another Coventry Eagle around :) By any chance was it an eBay purchase? I was eyeing one a few weeks(months?) back.

If you have one of them tin can blowtorch, try using it to heat up the fused portion till glowing red then try removing it. The problem is this is that it will take off the chrome which means you will need to rechrome it.

  • I'll be there around 5.30ish with a ball. If anyone wants to get in extra practice before throwins.

  • I'm going to pop down at 6ish for an hour or so to see what this polo thing is all about. Will there be a spare borrowable mallet kicking around? If not I'll probably stop by anyway to watch and learn.

  • Yep I can bring mallets and will have the bike.

I might be later though as I have some bike upgrades to do.

  • My bike is fixed.. still looking for mallet head pipe thou. will try to come around:)

..found massive amounts yesterday but only in size too big and size too small..

  • Thanks Wicksie, though frustratingly it now looks like I'm not going to be able to escape this evening in enough time to make it down. : ( I'll try to get down next week.

  • Glenn I have shitloads of the right sized pipe in my sitting room, I'll chop you off a piece for next week, if my hacksaw blade is still sharp.

  • In for 6pm ish (depending on how long the in-laws keep me talking for when I get home).

  • looks like a lovely evening for polo :)

  • Leaving in a minute. Citygent i can explain you how to remove cotters easily

  • Not having pologear saved me fron gettin busted rlj on the way home, that and turning into alot of sideroads.

Sorry for going on about it but anyone that came from coldharbour lane to arce lane kows you have to skip alot of lanes to go stright, almost skipped just infront of the piggie (dont ask)
