Nice to see another Coventry Eagle around :) By any chance was it an eBay purchase? I was eyeing one a few weeks(months?) back.
If you have one of them tin can blowtorch, try using it to heat up the fused portion till glowing red then try removing it. The problem is this is that it will take off the chrome which means you will need to rechrome it.
It was just getting them off, in the end I got a sledgehammer and a punch, was worried I'd fuck the frame but my aim is awesome, apparently.
Cheers for the info, though, cus my girlfriends Coventry Eagle restoration currently has cotters... THing is, I really would like to preserve the chainring. It has cutouts of eagles in it, it looks so fucking rad, and the teeth are hardly worn!
UNFORTUNATELY THE FUCKING PEDALS ARE WELDED WITH RUST TO THE FUCKER.
I am not in a great mood of late but mechanics seems to be helping. Despite the above rants.
