Wanted: Old spd shoes

After reading |³|MA3K's thread on making your own spd shoes i'd thought i'd have a go

so whats needed is:

an old pair of spd shoes (size 9) that anyone is looking to get rid of, preferably for free or on the cheap as they're gonna get stripped and the whole might not work.
I'm in brighton so would also be good if they're in the sussex area but i can collect from london.

any advice from anyone whos tried to do this before would also be apreciated.
