When is a ponytail on a man appropriate?

A ponytail on a man is never appropriate. I carry scissors in my bag, so I can cut them when I see one.

I would suggest cutting the hair to a more "normal" length. I did it a few years ago and haven't looked back. Much less hassle and looks a lot better.

watching the travesty of a spurs performance in new york bar, there was a man in front of me who ticked all the metaller/geek boxes, black clothing, black t-shirt, beard, black boots, glasses, long ponytail. A ponytail so long, it rolled in waves down his back, it was down to his crack. I wanted to ask him why, or better yet just take a knife to it. He must have been growing it for years, and years and years. And growing all that hair all he could do was pull it back into a ponytail. Let me tell you you'd better be afraid when he takes the band out and starts rocking out that hair would be like a cat o' nine tails.
Richie I'd say you've got shitloads of hair, if boss asks you to get a haircut, do so, but get something interesting, something extravagant, luxurious.

1. Had a (minor) trim. No-one has noticed.
