How come no-one has mentioned [REC]!?!? Probably my favourite zombie film. Really want to watch the sequel.

in fact after the chaos and the national guard was called in, there would be 1 or 2 heavily armoured 8 wheelers lying around. I think i would like to be in one of those!!! Screw a building...

1. .50cal sniper, line them up you'd easily go through 5 bodies at a time maybe more.

2. AK47 - cheap and very reliable - good choice.

3. Molatov's? Say goodbye to your eye brows, close up you want a chainsaw or machete.

Obviously the molotov and the sniper rifle would be in defense of the place of residence.

Shotgun ftw! Plus in this country it would probably be the easiest weapon (weapon as in guns, though i dont like using that as a all inclusive word) to find.

You need head shots. Why waste the ammo and time? Sniping is only useful on single, high value targets.

AK and a shotty (2 barrels, sawn down). Simple & effective.

Molotovs as part of a static defence assembly. You don't want to be burning yourself or lighting things when you're in the middle of it.

.50 cal, the bullets on this would easily rip apart a rib cage, I wouldn't bother going for the head since it's a sure kill anywhere on the body with a bullet of this size, hence why you can kill them from half a mile away.

Molotov's couldn't you just pour the fuel down and light it as a defence?

Its all very situational, you couldn't devise a plan without knowing what you up against.

Actually come to think of it a airport would be a good idea. Even an aeroplane would as you could seal the whole thing off fill it with supplies and let it all blow over.

In a situation like this I'll need to be comfortable. Ideally I would fucking love to roll around in shorts and a tee, but obviously this is a dumb ass move. Riot gear would be fucking ace, or if not a gimp suit should work well. :P

My ideal place would be somewhere with shutters/bars, very big, and a MUST, atleast 2 or 3 optional escape routes. You don't want an outbreak happening and no where to run to. Somewhere with a nice spacious ROOF. Should be up high enough, where if all else fails you could keep a HGV down below and jump on to it, with a customised hatch in the top to get in, and a bicycle. Fuck getting on the ground or climbing through the window.

But getting to a place like this is a bit unlikely without a good means of travel.

I think a nice spot with the thames or the canal near by. Limehouse Basin seems good, any trouble jump out the fucking window in to the water, climb in to a boat that you prepared with supplies in advance and you've got yourself a nice way out to find your next spot to crash.

REC did have a sequel, it's quite good. Saw it about a month back.
I thought Dead Snow was interesting, enjoyed it.

First up, HMS Belfast is ideal if you have to hide out in London against the Zombie Apocalypse.
Another option would be the Tower of London, which was designed to keep rampaging mobs on the outside...
An AK would be good, but there really isn't much 7.62 short ammunition in the UK, or even in western europe. You'd want to go for something in 5.56 or 7.62 long NATO standard, and a decent shotgun.

Also, since returning to the countryside I've found myself considering what I'd do in the event of a Zombocalypse.

Thankfully there are plenty of large country estates around I could camp in and try to defend. Usually situated in quite an open space so I could see the hordes approaching. The buildings themselves would be structurally pretty sound with lots of heavy wooden furniture about to board up the windows. I'm also fairly certain they'd have some rifles/shotguns lying around..
