I think mr white is right i want to be able to slip off my look keos and put flats on for the pub and then put them back on for the commute with out grease and a pedal spanner

Might be even harder to ride off on a stolen fixed gear if there aren't any pedals..

i hadn't even thought about the anti theft benefits. See its a great idea

Now that is actually a benfit!
Seriously, if you want different shoe options just get those double sided peddles.

I like using road cleats you don't get that option with them. also some mtb shoes dont work with those pedals, also (and most importantly) they are heavy and look pants.

They can do this whether you have pedals or not.

They'll nick them coz they are fancy QR cranks.

MKS have been making those for ages:
They do other pedals too.Admittedly you can't use just any pedals (but you can use ANY crank - Shimano AX excluded) and they probably aren't as well built as the WI's... But I bet they cost a fraction of the price and if this is a bike you're riding 'to the pub' do you really want WI stuff on it?

and these (from Wellgo):
Never seen them before.
Also don't you have a dedicated pub bike? I have 2! -

yes but as pointed out you cant use any pedal and i perosnally would rather have a strange crank than a strange pedal.
I am obviously assuming that white industies are going to make this product for the fixed/ss market and will create a crank with a nice easy chain line. They probably wont.
