You can't beat one of Hilary's frame threads. So many in my size too..must resist

Please stop posting pictures of the Bates Volante as i really must resist. Stunning frame though. So is the Saronni.

Thanks Hilary. Good looking forks but it would be criminal to buy the frame just to strip the forks off it.

Hi Hilary, is the Colnago Saronni still unsold ? Andy F
Hi everyone,
I’ve just sorted out another lot of interesting and bargain frames. Shipping on frames within the UK will be £11 - other items can ship free of charge in the same box. I can ship anywhere in the world at a reasonable cost.
ALL ITEMS ARE IN BRISTOL
Payment can be via bank transfer (preferred), cheque or the dreaded Paypal which costs me 3%…
** If you dib an item, please PM me and pay the same day unless you make other arrangements with me. Otherwise it may well be sold to the next person who wants it...**
** I will be at the LFGSS Track Day at Herne Hill next Saturday, the 11th September and can bring items for collection there **
Viewing/Personal collection is welcome as quite a few have found and have been able to get other parts they are looking for at the same time.

REG BARNETT TRACK FRAME 1970s
Seat Tube (ctt): 56cm (22in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm (21.75in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheelsize: Sprints/700C (brake drop 41mm)
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame tubing; almost certainly Reynolds 531 double butted
This is really cool track frame with modern steep angles and close clearances – Reg Barnett was a top track rider in the 1960s. It is in excellent condition with very good paint with only a few small marks. Please note that the second picture shows it built up - it is only frame and forks as illustrated in the first picture that is now being sold. £245
R O HARRISON MADISON TRACK FRAME 1953
Seat Tube (ctt): 49.5cm (19.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm (21.75in)
Rear dropout width: 116mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 45mm)
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
R O Harrison from south London was a highly skilled framebuilder and built for many top track riders of the day - such as Harry Grant. This very small pure track frame has tight clearances and steep angles and is excellent condition. £185
BATES VOLANTE ROAD FRAME 1990s by Ron Cooper Stunning lugwork
Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: 700C with 55mm brake drop
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 Cantiflex butted tubing
This is a stunning Bates Volante road bike built by Ron Cooper with Bates patented Cantifllex tubing – this is a larger diameter in the centre of each of the three main tubes and builds a really responsive stiff frame together with the registered design Diadrant forks. The lugs are truly stunning – I think they were almost certainly cut by Len Phipps who cuts fancy lugs for many builders such as Hetchins too. This one very special frame that was built in very small quantities in the 1990s... £595
OLMO GIRO ROAD FRAME early 1990s
Seat Tube (ctc): 23in (58cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 23in (58cm)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 700C with brake drop of 50mm
Seatpost size: 26.8mm
Frame tubing: Columbus Aelle
This Olmo Giro road frame us in very good/excellent condition with just a small number of marks to its original paint. It will make an excellent singlespeed or fixed conversion £95
VAN HESTE LO-PRO FRAME c1989 suitable for fixed Unused
Seat Tube (ctc): 54cm (21.25in), 59cm centre to top of seat tube
Top Tube (ctc): 54.5cm (21.4in)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: 700C rear, 650C front
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This Belgian built lo-pro frame is unused though it does appear as if it has been partly built up at some time – however it is essentially unused. The paint is virtually perfect with just one or two very small marks. It is really very light so must have been built from pretty lightweight double butted tubing. It has horizontal dropouts so would be ideal to be used as a fixed/singlespeed conversion. £165
EMPEROR SPORT ROAD FRAME c1980
Seat Tube (ctt): 61cm (24in)
Top Tube (ctc): 58cm (23in)
Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 50mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 butted
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Emperor Sport Cycles was a well known bike shop on the edge of Sutton run by Mick Coward. This is a really rather good road frame from around 1980 – it would be ideal as an Audax or Sportive frame with clearances for guards with 25/28mm tyres. It would also make a great fixed or singlespeed conversion. £89
UNKNOWN MAKER ROAD FRAME 1950s Attractively filed and thinned lugs
Seat Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in)
Rear dropout width: 115mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 55mm)
Seatpost size: 27.0mm
This frame from the 1950s has lots of really nice little details and beautifully filed and thinned lugs. I do not know who the builder was and if it was not for the fact that the BB threads are English I might have thought this frame was French. Whatever it’s a nice quality frame built from double butted tubing which would make a cool fixed or singlespeed conversion. £75
SARONNI ROAD FRAME by Colnago ** NEW AND UNUSED** Columbus SL
Seat Tube (ctc): 52cm (20.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 53.5cm (21in)
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 45mm)
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame tubing: Columbus SL
Saronni was one of the top Italian riders of the 1970s/80s winning the world championships in 1982 and the Giro D’Italia in 1983. To celebrate this Colnago produced this special model - the Saronni Giro D’Italia. This frame is new and unused and is a very rare special Colnago model. It is in excellent condition with one or two small shopwear marks but nothing at all significant. £395
