To be fair, Heathrow is the fifth busiest airport in the world, so I'm not entirely surprised that it's not exactly a great place to be in.

some of the nicest airport I've been to are far from congested, like in Lima, Peru (ironically a 3rd world country).

Aruba's airport is lovely. Even has an open air departures lounge.
