Off-road tyre chioce is personal preferance. I'm running WTB WeirWolf 2.55" 's front and back. But like I said the rear wont convert (bead wont seat), with my set-up. So Much as I like the tyres I cant recommend them.
TBH I had never planned to run such a large rear anyway. The WW 2.55's just happened to be on offer. I had ordered a rear Geax Saguaro (2.2), which I reckon will make a nice rear tyre with the WW 2.55 up front. But it never arrived. Was infact looking at those ardents (in 2.25) yesterday.
What I'm aiming for is:
2.4/2.55 front with a fair amount of tread.
2.1/2.25 rear with a fast rolling central section.
