Don't want to overprice it on this forum. If it's still here in a week I might consider putting it on ebay and throwing some words like "vintage" and "retro" around! Thanks for the comments

Nice one Jack but what is ‘Special Allege’ tubing? Does it give the illusion of going faster?

Allegedly

A beaut, and nice to see Chorlton Green in the photos. If I had longer legs I would be all over this. I'll keep an eye out for this if it stays in town

Speaking of which, is it comfortable for someone of 5'10'' to use?
-
• #19
Maybe with a shorter stem and the saddle forwards, but I must say it's not ideal. I'm just under 6' and I'd still say it's a little big. Still rideable, but wouldn't want to tour on it, which is a shame!

Pity... Bit too big for me in that case, sadly. Thanks though.

It's totally sold, sorry to not update sooner. Tally ho
**SOLD**SOLDSOLD******SOLD Thanks!
Up for grabs is this lovely 10 speed touring bike, almost definitely a Peugeot A08/AE8 and probably from around 1974. I bought it grubby but hardly used from its original owner just before Christmas and, being on the dole back then, thought that a good use of my time would be to take it to bits, clean and polish every minute part then put it back together again. Since we all know that clean bikes are faster, lighter and more reliable than their dirty, undesirable counterparts, I feel this was time well spent. I will therefore charge my time at sixpence per hour and add it to the list price.
Anyway, I now need someone else to make it dirty again. I can’t do it. I just won’t. I was assured that it had probably been ridden less than 100 miles from new and it shows – it really is in good nick! The paintwork and decals are almost as new, just the occasional scratch here and there. I replaced the cables, housing, brake pads, tyres, tubes and bar tape (sorry about those by the way – quite an unnecessary alteration but it seemed like a good idea at the time).
Selling to clear some space and fund a new fixed gear project
Here’s the bike’s CV:
Top tube 60cm c-c, seat tube 60cm c-t
‘Special Allege’ tubing
Mafac racer brakes and levers
Simplex prestige derailleurs
AVA stem
Lyotard pedals
ADGA saddle (original)
Schwalbe tyres
Anti theft wing nuts on wheels – cannot be removed with a spanner OR allen key!!
Original pump
Pannier rack with original strap
Shiny mudguards
